The Shadow Side of Being a Musician

Cecile Raynor, founder of Cecile’s Wise Ways, is offering a two-part introductory and experiential online workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m., January 18 and 25, 2022, for musicians that are experiencing chronic pain.

It is common for musicians to experience chronic pain in their muscles or joints, but they often don’t talk about it or seek help. The Alexander Technique helps them to reclaim integrated functioning so all body parts can function harmoniously together both in daily movements and while they practice or perform. As they discover and unlearn the unconscious habits that are feeding their pain, they learn about five essential key relationships in their body that promote their most natural good posture. They learn to activate their whole-body intelligence to deepen their coordination and balance, while increasing their energy and resilience to perform at their best.

For 30 years, Raynor has been helping people with poor posture, chronic muscular tension and pain, joint issues and headaches reclaim their ease of movement, their natural good posture, and the joy and peace of mind brought by well-being.
