Especially for Pets Celebrates Bond Between People and Pets: Business Spotlight

Tambor

Fall is an especially busy time at Especially for Pets, an independent pet supply store that offers only pet-friendly products and services including personalized grooming and dog training. With stores located in Acton, Canton, Medway, Newton, Sudbury, Wayland and Westborough, Especially for Pets has been celebrating the bond between people and pets since 1988. In November, its newly improved Companion Rewards Program will roll out featuring earned free food products and grooming sessions, a 3 percent reward on all supplies, and discounts on four- to seven-week dog training classes.

Recently, Especially for Pets just signed on to sponsor its second Canine Companions for Independence puppy, Tambor. For the next 18 months, he will be raised to change someone’s life for the better by his puppy raiser, Leslie Zelamsky, who is director of dog training at Especially for Pets. Tambor can be found in a training class or puppy playgroup, or visitors can meet him at their nearest store on selected dates. Especially for Pets is proud to sponsor this special pup, especially because its first sponsor puppy, Bryn, is well on her way to graduating as a service dog and being matched with a disabled partner.

Also this month, Especially for Pets’ Day School, in Sudbury, will open where dogs can learn and play in an enriching and safe environment while participating in activities that nurture them socially, physically and mentally. Grand opening details will be announced soon.

In addition, a number of pet-related charitable events will be sponsored including MSPCA’s Raise the Woof Gala and Operation Delta Dog’s Annual Walk & Wags for Veterans on Saturday, November 12, when they will host a Yappy Hour doggie bar. Several other nonprofits will enjoy time in select stores including annual Pet Photos with Santa to benefit Baypath Humane Society with Beth Oram Photography. This quarter, the Dog Orphans Humane Society will receive all donations from Especially for Pets’ nail clipping fundraiser.
