European thermography is now available at Bella Natural Health, in Hanover. This alternative tool for evaluating breast and prostate health is a whole-body screening system that does not involve radiation.

“European thermography is different from such imaging devices as mammograms, MRIs, ultrasound and digital imaging thermography,” says Dr. Dawna Jones, owner of Bella Natural Health. “Measurements for diagnosis are based on temperature changes in the body, where changes in skin temperature can reveal the health of the underlying organs.”

Jones says that European thermography is a gentle, painless test that involves taking two sets of temperature readings over a period of about 30 minutes. “The technology was developed in Germany and has been used and studied since the 1960s,” she adds. “In several studies, thermography was found to be able to detect the first signs that a cancer may be forming up to 10 years earlier than other devices. This is critical because early detection may allow intervention prior to an irreversible state in the organ.” Thermography sessions are conducted by Jackie Bell Natural Health, of Dedham.
