Spinal Calligraphy: A Six-Week Feldenkrais Series
Drop-ins welcome the first week. Come and begin a new relationship with your spine!
Register for full series by emailing [email protected] with subject line "Feldenkrais Series" by March 8th at 5pm EST. You may also drop-in to the first class on March 1st using the Zoom link below.
By combining the fundamental movements of twisting, side-bending, flexion and extension, we can find a nearly infinite vocabulary of variations in spinal movement. Through curiosity and constraint, we can outwit habit and illuminate a more complete language of skeletal expression to draw upon. As in calligraphy, our task in these lessons will be not only to communicate our intentions effectively, but also to experience a quality of movement that is internally aesthetically pleasing.
The Feldenkrais method is a somatic approach to movement education, where curiosity, pleasure, and ease guide self-discovery. Class will be verbally guided with minimal need to engage visually with the screen. All bodies are welcome.
