ValleyCAST hosts Andy Volpe and the Printing Revolution

ValleyCAST is proud to host an informative afternoon of the history of the Printing Revolution at the Singh Performance Center with Andy Volpe.

Andy Volpe will give a slide lecture titled "Printing Revolution", which has a double meaning, referring to both the printing press and what was being printed, which was considered "Revolutionary".

The program will focus on the lead-up to the American Revolution and the printing of the Declaration of Independence. Andy will also talk about the legal battles fought between the Colonial printers and England over the ideas of a Free Press and Freedom of Speech.

Following the presentation, Andy will share a display of several replica prints including the Declaration. This program is approximately 1 hour and appropriate for grades 5 and up, adults, and seniors. Area teachers are encouraged to attend, as Andy is offering to bring the program to area schools. The program is free and all are welcome.
