They gather in our trees, call across our neighborhoods, strut through our yards, and sometimes seem to have quite a bit to say. But have you ever really listened? Across cultures and spiritual traditions, they have been associated with magic, mystery, intelligence, intuition, truth, transformation, prophecy, prayer, and the mysterious spaces between the known and unknown. My own relationship with Crow and Raven is not simply symbolic. It has been lived and nurtured over many years. They have come to me as messengers, teachers, aunties and, sometimes, Grandmothers. Every fall and winter, I feed the crows who gather near my home. They know me. I’ve come to know them too.
