Free, Gentle Yoga Therapy Class at Visions HealthCare

Jul 31, 2013 04:05PM

Alaine Amaral

Visions HealthCare is offering a free, group yoga therapy class geared towards those suffering from chronic pain and illness from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 10, at Visions’ Dedham location. Yoga therapy is a highly individualized, selfempowering process that combines the healing properties of healthcare and yoga.

Certified Integrative Yoga Therapist Alaine Amaral will lead the class and attend to each participant by recommending individual modifications in the midst of a supportive group class setting. The class will educate people on how to carefully incorporate movement, rather than restrict it, to heal from pain and discomfort. Amaral, who has lived with fibromyalgia since 1998, uses yoga, meditation, diet and lifestyle to manage the symptoms of fibromyalgia and explore the deeper meaning of living with pain and facing challenges.

For those looking for continued support, Amaral will offer an eight-week program at Visions HealthCare this fall.

Cost: Free. To reserve a place, visit FreeYogaClassVHC. Location: Visions HealthCare, 910 Washington St., Dedham. For more information, call 781- 232-5431 or visit
