Reconnect with Nature Through Forest Bathing

A guided forest bathing session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on July 27, at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, in Boylston, Massachusetts. Hosted by New England Nature and Forest Therapy Consulting (NENFT), the event invites participants to experience the Japanse tradition of shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing”—a rapidly growing, research-based practice shown to support health, happiness and well-being.

Forest bathing involves slow, mindful time spent in natural environments and has been shown to improve cardiovascular and immune function, boost mood, enhance focus and support mental clarity. The session will follow the Relational Forest Therapy framework developed by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. This approach integrates modern medical research, ancient mindfulness traditions and the latest developments in nature connection.

The event will be led by award-winning author Nadine Mazzola, who offers a variety of forest therapy programs, including walks, talks and half-day retreats. NENFT also offers workshops for organizations, combining experiential forest bathing with presentations on its role as a wellness tool to reduce stress and support overall health.
