Stay Strong and Injury-Free This Race Season

As Rhode Island’s race season ramps up, runners and triathletes are logging serious miles, both in training and competing, increasing the likelihood of overuse injuries. To keep these and all other athletes on the move and not sidelined this summer, Restore Physical Therapy, based in Cranston, is providing 50 percent off for their 75-minute evaluations for new patients throughout this month.
Debilitating injuries don’t appear overnight. They often start as small aches—tight hips, heel pain or knee discomfort—that can come from issues in training plans, running form or recovery routines. Ignoring these “small” signs can lead to big setbacks.
Instead of waiting until an ailment manifests itself, it’s helpful to incorporate physical therapy from the start. A proactive evaluation assesses strength, gait mechanics and recovery habits, so any issues can be addressed before they become season-ending problems.
“This is a time-sensitive offer that will make a difference in people’s lives to seek proactive care that could prevent bigger issues later on,” says Dr. Amanda Zarriello, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and owner of Restore Physical Therapy.
