Rhode Island Marks World Diabetes Day with Free Educational Event
The Rhode Island Department of Health will host the 2025 Rhode Island World Diabetes Day event from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on November 13, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick (Airport).
This free, in-person event brings together healthcare professionals and community members for a morning of educational presentations, discussions and Q-and-A sessions focused on diabetes prevention, management and awareness.
Keynote speaker Kris Freeman, a patient ambassador sponsored by Novo Nordisk, will open the program, followed by sessions covering such topics as affordable medication access, diabetic foot health, gestational diabetes in the AI era and age-friendly diabetes management. The event will conclude with the Grace Diaz Blue Light Award presentation. Attendees will be eligible for CME/CE credits, and light refreshments will be provided.
