Dr. Amanda Zarriello, physical therapist and
owner of Restore Physical Therapy, in Cranston, Rhode Island, will present
Start the New Year Grounded: Discover the Power of Mindfulness &
Meditation. This six-week mindfulness and meditation course—to be held from 10
to 11:15 a.m. on Thursdays from January 8, 2026, to February 12, 2026, at JG Fitness &
Performance Annex, in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, will help attendees to
slow down, reconnect with their bodies and rediscover calm from the inside out.
“We’ll
teach you the foundations of mindfulness, guide you through meditation
practices, and create space for genuine connection and reflection,” says
Zarriello. “We’re often missing real conversation and community. This class is
a place to slow down, to reconnect—with yourself and with others. Working on
your mind is just as essential as working on your body. So often, physical pain
and tension are deeply connected to the state of the mind. Learning how to tune
into both through mindfulness and meditation can bring clarity, calm and
healing.”
The program can help reduce stress, anxiety
and overthinking; improve focus, sleep and emotional balance; increase
self-awareness and compassion; support physical healing and pain management;
enhance creativity, patience and resilience; strengthen our ability to respond
rather than react to challenges; decrease the rate of aging in the brain;
improve memory, cognitive abilities and learning; boost immune system; and
more.
