RIEEA Annual Summit in Providence

The Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) will hold its annual summit, entitled Education Through Cultivation, that will focus on strengthening connections to land, food and community, from 8 a.m. to noon on March 14, 2026, at the Rhode Island College Donovan Dining Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The event aims to unite educators, farmers, land stewards, advocates and community members to advance resilient, place-based learning across the state.

Attendees will explore practical, place-based approaches to instruction that will cultivate resilience, equity and care for both people and ecosystems.

 Sienna Viette of Open fArms Retreat, in Cumberland, Rhode Island, will present on how environmental education can strengthen our relationship to land, food and community. The morning will also include a full, hot, delicious breakfast with vegan and gluten-free options; small group discussions and hands-on-activities; many networking opportunities; a raffle to support the RIEEA’s programming; and more.

Whether one works in a classroom, on a farm, for a nonprofit organization or in another capacity in one’s community, the event is designed inspire, connect and equip all guests with tangible, clear ideas that they can easily put into practice.
