Happy Anniversary to Us!
It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since I took a major leap of faith and jumped into publishing this magazine with both feet. The rest of me had no choice but to join the adventure!
Quite literally, it was two feet on the ground, going door-to-door to businesses all over the Greater Boston area, introducing business owners to a yet-to-be-published magazine. Using copies obtained from the original Natural Awakenings in Naples, Florida, along with my hometown Rhode Island edition, I moved to Brookline and started knocking on doors to raise enough money to print and distribute our first issue.
It brings me so much joy knowing that some of our earliest partners, those who took a chance on us, are still blessing us with the privilege of supporting their work today.
I invite you to get comfy, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy the 181st smorgasbord of topics we have for you this month.
In “Natural Skincare Recipes,” we’re reminded that caring for ourselves can be beautifully simple, using everyday ingredients to create nourishing, effective skincare while reducing our impact on the planet. It’s a gentle nudge that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.
In “It Takes a Circle: Building Greener Lives Together,” Hannah Tytus reminds us that lasting change doesn’t happen in isolation; it grows through connection, community and shared responsibility. It’s an inspiring look at how small, collective actions can ripple outward to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
Our Business Spotlight this month features financial advisor John Gautreaux, ChFC, of Independence Financial Partners, in Warwick, Rhode Island, who shares how easing financial stress can have a profound impact on overall well-being by, as he puts it, "helping us sleep better, think more clearly, and feel more grounded." Through trust, thoughtful guidance and meaningful connection, his work becomes not just about money, but about supporting what matters most in people’s lives ... just as we intend for this publication each month.
Happy spring to you and yours ... It's been a long time coming this year, and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest.
Peace,
