Proactive Wellness Awareness

We are jam-packed this month with a ton of good stuff for all the guys and supportive partners out there who may be interested in a little help on the wellness trail!
When hearing about men’s health, I think many of us go straight to the physical aspects like exercise, building muscle and maybe even erectile dysfunction, as men age. While we’ve got all of this covered this month, the article from fellow Natural Awakenings publisher Shae Marcus, “The Conscious Man,” explores how traditional notions of masculinity contribute to a silent epidemic of stress among men. In it, Marcus advocates for conscious living practices that foster emotional awareness, resilience, and a healthier, more authentic expression of masculinity. It’s a great reminder for men that caring for themselves emotionally isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom.
In our feature article this month, “Expanding Our Healthspan, Holistic Strategies for Long-Term Well-Being,” by Carrie Jackson, we explore the rising movement toward extending healthspan—not just lifespan. Through proactive lifestyle care, advanced diagnostics and holistic practices that empower us to thrive well into our later years, Jackson acknowledges that while most people hope to live longer, longevity without good health is a recipe for suffering.
With all the chatter about making America healthy everywhere we turn these days and advocates for cleaning up our food system actively sparking change, I’d like to bring some special attention to our Conscious Eating article by Chloe Karydes Krecun, “Crafting Personal Fuel, Why Do-It-Yourself Protein Bars Are Worth the Effort.” Aside from all the important reasons to take control over the ingredients we ingest, this article includes some yummy recipes to satiate our belly and maybe even satisfy a sweet tooth.
Whether you’re reading this month’s Men’s Health edition as a man who’s finally ready to prioritize his health, a partner trying to support someone you love, or just someone curious about how to feel a little better in your own skin—this one’s for you!
Take what serves you. Share what inspires you. And please, let our advertisers and contributors know if something you read here makes a difference.
To strong bodies, calm minds and the quiet courage to keep showing up for ourselves, however perfectly or imperfectly, we hope you take something useful away from your time with us once again this month. Happy Summer!
Peace,
