Barefoot Circus: A New Way to Rest, Recharge and Reconnect

Adults looking to unplug, recharge and connect with nature can experience a different kind of wellness gathering at Barefoot Circus: An Elemental Reset, taking place August 21 through 23 at Tupelo Hollow Farm, in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Designed as a “restival” rather than a traditional retreat or music festival, the adults-only event combines wellness practices, outdoor adventure and community in an alcohol- and drug-free environment.
Rather than following a structured itinerary, participants are encouraged to move freely among activities that support relaxation, self-discovery and authentic connection. The weekend draws inspiration from the natural elements—earth, water, fire, air and ether—with experiences that encourage guests to slow down, reconnect with themselves and spend time immersed in nature.

Weekend programming includes yoga, breathwork, ecstatic dance, live music, sound experiences, forest foraging, sauna sessions, cold plunges, workshops, community campfires and a guided firewalk intended to help participants build confidence and move beyond perceived limitations. Optional equine experiences provide another opportunity to deepen participants’ connection with nature. Organizers describe the event as an opportunity to reset the nervous system while fostering creativity, playfulness and meaningful relationships.

Guests may camp with their own tents or choose upgraded accommodations, including community or semi-private glamping and private cabins. Outdoor showers, flushable restrooms and onsite food options will be available throughout the weekend. For those unable to attend the entire event, Saturday day passes provide access to the festival’s core programming.

Barefoot Circus was created to offer an alternative to both traditional wellness retreats and large-scale festivals by emphasizing balance and connection over, respectively, busy schedules and performance. The gathering welcomes adults of all experience levels, whether they are new to wellness practices or looking to deepen an existing self-care routine, with space to participate in as many—or as few—activities as they choose.

Cost: Weekend passes begin at $369; Saturday day passes are also available. Location: 221 Old Cordwood Path, Duxbury, MA. For more information or to register, call 978-427-7560 or visit BarefootCircus.com.
